The last (?) 4m-6m opening...

All-day long today on 6m, 4m and few QSOs on 2m bands.Looks like to be the last (maybe) opening on my favorite bands. About 240 QSOs and few suprises...
4m map
4m-6m opening
6m...!!!
My FT-847 without any mod for 4m operation gave 20 watts and draws about 25 Ampers. Between 12:00-13:00z I decide to make the PA1O mod. After for more than 50 screws and few desoldering-soldering, modification made and radio goes back to opening for test.
YAESU FT-847 opened...

Now I got 75 watts for 9-11 Amps. Looks a small success...!! No any bad reports so far.

Audio "looks" also nice from my ham friends recordings...!!

Tnx to Erwin DK5EW

Holidays and ...tropo games...!!!

Since yesterday I'm on holidays at KM36vc (South Rhodes).
First propagation thing that I noticed was the 24 hours Tropo on
UHF TV with Egypt TV Channels 1 and 2.

As you can see it's Q5 and with very stable signal all day.
Earlier today as I except 2m opening in eastern Mediterranean  happens and the results was 4X, SV9, and 9H on 2m and replys to 9H1CG John's request, I manage to work him on 432.200 SSB using the antenna of ...2m !!!
Few moments later SV9IOQ was also into the log working him on UHF.
My AIS receiver's coverage today...!!!

The 6m band remains very unstable at openings and a dosen of stations only worked today.

SV5BYR - SV5KKR servers out of service...

Unfortunately the conflict between NO-IP.ORG and MICROSOFT not solved so all my servers running under sv5byr.no-ip.org domain is out of service from last night. SV5BYR-7 DX Cluster, my SDR servers (HF and VHF) as the RemoteHams FT-817 of SV5KKR, not working.

I decide to leave out  of service all servers except DX Cluster
when the no-ip.org returns.
Will be on service again at Autumn.

JA to SV5 multi Es...

A nice opening also this morning to Japan with a multi Es....

Some screens of procedure...

I count 4 "waves" of 20-35 min from top to top and manage to work 28 Japanese stations.... In the mean time I made about 60 QSOs with Ukrainian stations most of them for first time.

One explanation:  Sometimes I put several QSOs, worked on my frequency, at DX cluster. That's not a way to advertise my QSOs, but to keep the propagation maps up to date and help other to point on the Es cloud from their area showing the path. Thanks for understanding.

It's mine after 38 years...!!!

As young boy every night I dreamed a "Green Radio" to hear all that voices that they comes from the sea. The very first time when I saw it in a big boat at Karpathos island I fall in love with it and for many years I was looking to find it cheap to buy it. Just to listen the Chanel 16 in the shack. The prices all those year staying high and the sell places far from me to pay the shipping. A day, surfing to E-bay I find it to the German E-bay but the guy says no Shipping to Greece.

The price was affordable and my dream so closed. I hit a bid and few days later I won...!!! My good friend Frank (DL8YHR) says (after my question) "No Problem" to send it the seller to him at Germany. A week later my box it travels from Germany to Rhodes with UPS. Thanks again Frank for you time and expenses. Few days before the box arrives and the baby comes out to the Greek light. Seller says that "the speaker is not working but you can hear something from headphone if you wish".

So, I opened the cache and go directly to AF AMP. Some shorts with a speaker shows alive the PA IC, and then I focusing to the electrolytic capacitors. An 4700 μF refused to work and a brand new take its place. The warm bass sound of this radio comes out  making me smile...!!!

My SAILOR RT144 VHF Marine Radiotelephone its back to life and now listen all ship and Coast Guard reports in all Eastern Mediterranean sea. Yesterday I was listening for a half hour the Port-Said canal control at Egypt with Q5.
